Lorenzo Tancioni

Senior Researcher of Ecology. His scientific interests deal with fish ecology in inland waters, aquaculture and biomonitoring, in particular with reference to applied aspects such as responsible management of aquatic resources in running waters, fish biodiversity conservation, and the development of fish-based methods to evaluate the ecological status of lotic systems. In the last years, he has been participating as a national expert to the Working Groups of the ECOSTAT/GIG for the intercalibration, harmonization and standardization (Working group A – CIS)  of fish-based classification methods for the assessment of ecological status of inland waters (Directive 2000/60/EC). Moreover, he was member of working group “Freshwater Fishes” of the IUCN Italian Committee for the Fish Red List, and he has also participating as expert to the working group of the AIIAD to update the conservation status of species of bony fishes and agnates listed in Annexes of the Habitats Directive (ISPRA/Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea).
